Grenada Intro Image Citizenship

A little about Grenada

Known colloquially as the Spice Island, tropical rainforests and white beaches characterize the nature of Grenada. A Commonwealth country and former British colony, this popular tourist destination is a common law jurisdiction with all the political freedoms and social stability thereto pertaining.  As a relative newcomer in the citizenship by investment market, the Grenada program has short processing times, competitive pricing as well as certain unique advantages.

Citizenship Procedure

All applicants must be in good standing and have a clean criminal record. The Citizenship by Investment Unit commits to complete application processing within 60 days, following which successful applicants will receive an Approval in Principle. The client then proceeds to remit the agreed funds, either to purchase real estate or to contribute cash, and then finally obtains the certificate of citizenship and passport.

Costs:
Applicants may opt for either a direct cash contribution to the government’s National Transformation Fund or the acquisition of real estate on the island.

  • Under the contribution option, the applicant would donate US$200,000 to the National Transformation fund.
  • Under the real estate option, the applicant must purchase a property in Grenada at a value of no less than US$350,000, which may be disposed of after a holding period of three years. In addition, an applicant with up to three dependents must pay a government fee of US$50,000 and US$25,000 for each dependent beyond this.

Regardless of which option the applicants chooses, all individuals included in the application are subject to the following additional fees:

  • Due diligence fee: US$5,000 per adult of 16 years and over and US$ 2,000 per dependent between 12 and 16 years of age.
  • Processing fee: US$500 for each minor dependent and US$1,500 for each person over the age of 18.
  • Government application and passport fees: Altogether US$1,750 per individual, regardless of age.
Key Benefits:
  • Visa free travel to more than 100 countries, including Schengen states, UK, Hong Kong and, uniquely among all citizenship programs, China.
  • No residence requirement.
  • Processing time of as little as two months.
  • E-2 Treaty member country, which enables citizens to live and work in the US long term. As such, Grenadian citizenship is a great alternative for those applicants otherwise interested in the US EB-5 program, which currently has a waiting time of 4-5 years.
  • Among the most affordable citizenship programs.
  • Highly favorable tax policies.
